After weeks of brainstorming, the solution came to us: we could use the Christmas ribbon to tie together the bed posts!

Don't forget to tie the other end!
Problem solved! Our family of stuffed animals can now live without fear of the crack!
And we lived happily ever after.
You know, they sell some sort of bed thing that goes between the mattresses and across them and makes them one big bed...I'm pretty sure IKEA has them :)
